About Emily

Emily's Background

 

Emily graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics. She completed her internship in North Carolina with rotations at Duke Diet and Fitness Center.

She moved back to Michigan in 2012 to be closer to family and accepted a job with a local hospital. There she worked with acute care, long term acute care patients, patients with various diseases and comorbidities. She recieved her Clinical Nutrition Support Certification and specialized in tube feedings and parenteral feedings.

Her true passion came when she moved to outpatient counseling for the weight management and bariatric surgery counseling.

Emily now stays current with nutrition practices across the board. Working with college students, dialysis patients, athletes of all ages and types and providing nutrition counseling to those in need.

She completed her ACE Personal Trainer Certification in 2014 and became a Certified Sports Specialist Dietitian in 2016. She loves teaching group classes including spinning, dancing, running technique and speed and agility.

Emily continues to stay active in her community. She served on the local park board and has helped introduce health and wellness activities into the community. She is also part of the local run camp known nation wide where she helps runners of all ages and levels accomplish their goals!
