Did you know that the average American gains 1-2 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Years. Worse yet, most Americans will not take off this extra weight during the new year.
The holidays are filled with good food and drink, and although we think that it can't be too harmful to eat that extra piece of pie just one day a year, that doesn't tend to be the only time we splurge during the holidays. With work parties, family get togethers, cookie exchanges, and second helpings of leftovers, the calories start to add up over the holiday season.
My challenge to everyone this year is to reverse the cycle for 2015. Instead of gaining two pounds by January 1st, let's lose 2 pounds by January 1st!
Science shows that we do better when we are held accountable, so grab a partner or challenge myself this December. Wager $5-20 that you will lose 2 pounds by December 31st. If you lose it, you win the money!
